Objectives
Our main objectives are to:
- Provide an independent, cohesive overview of golf's environmental initiatives
- Provide a credible industry framework through the Forum for Golf and Environment, which enables a productive interface between golfing and environmental organisations;
- Assist golfing organisations to set out and promote their environmental policies and programmes;
- Establish mechanisms which enable the better uptake of environmental best practice, and facilitates the promotion of credible achievement;
- Contribute to the furtherance of environmental education in green-keeping and architecture;
- Promote an Environmental Management and Accreditation System for golf facilities;
- Promote the principles of sustainable development across golf course planning, design and construction;
- Promote the establishment of, and support, national golf environment initiatives.
