GOLF ENVIRONMENT EUROPE ECOManagement PROGRAMME
GOLF ENVIRONMENT EUROPE HAS ADPATED THE FORMER COMMITTED TO GREEN PROGRAMME FOR GOLF COURSES. The aim is to create a system which is more accessible to golf facilities across Europe, which allows flexibility for adaptation into different national projects and which ultimately encourages registration and accreditation via the European Commission Eco Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
The GEE ECOManagement Programme therefore provides:
- an umbrella for credible national environmental management and certification systems,
- an accessible system through which all golf clubs can build their environmental programmes, and
- an interface with and stepping stone towards EMAS.
GEE ECOManagement is about building credible environmental activity and partnerships at local, national and pan European levels. The scheme is open to all sizes of golf facility on a voluntary basis. Embodied within GEE ECOManagement and EMAS is a considerable emphasis on long term continual improvement.
It should be noted that EMAS registration and verification is not a pre-requirement of the GEE ECOManagement programme, but that you will be encouraged to take the steps to become officially EMAS accredited.
