Project Update

We are well into the detailed design and system development of the GEE environmental certification programme. This will be a zero paper, web based, transparently reported, independently verified and constructive continual improvement programme for any golf facility.

We'll be reporting on the programme's structure, evaluation criteria and verification process in greater depth during the course of the year.

We have also started the carbon foot-printing project for Ryder Cup 2010, where internationally recognised methodologies are being tailored to the unique elements of the event. Scoping the issues that are directly, indirectly and not associated with the event is currently underway and is proving to be an interesting exercise.

Our new Environmental Resource Centre (ERC) is moving towards final stage development, ahead of an anticipated May launch. We are currently finalising sections on the EU environmental legislation that affects golf, and also resource management in clubhouses and environmental planning.
